Inventor develops 'artificial gills' But sadly, it's not the magical "breathe under water" solution one hopes it would be. You still need to use a rebreather ( takes a long time to get qualified on,and is expensive) and the real limit is the scubber ( removes CO2) Not the O2 a diver can carry. This system seeks to elimnate the 02 tank, but that's not the current limiting factor to long duration dives.
